The Amperite RAH Vintage Ribbon Microphone is circa 1935. There were 2 versions of this model, a high impedence (this one) and low impedance (RAL). This mike is in "gun-metal" but it also came in chrome. Amperite Company was founded in 1922 in New York City, NY by Samuel Ruttenberg. They produced cartridge-type Automatic Adjusting Resistors for tube-operated AC/DC radio sets. In 2002, Amperite Ownership was transferred to Olympic Controls Corp. The condition of the microphone is good although it shows signs of age with tarnishing. There is some minor scratching and the cable is cracked and bare but functional and tested with alligator clips. The output is strong and it sounds nice.
