Offered today the second edition, 1947, "Elements of Acoustical Engineering" by Harry F. Olson, EE, PhD. This is a highly technical 539 page text covering all aspects of acoustics and was state of the art in the early 20th century. I would venture to claim that it is still state of the art. Vintage microphones are covered in depth. The complete contents are excerpted below.

Who was Harry F. Olson? Here is his Biographical Memoir (link). "A prolific inventor and engineer, Olson won more than 100 patents for the various types of microphones (including the widely used 44- and 77-series), cardioid (directional) microphones" (Wikipedia).

This text is a classic. Any serious collector or student of acoustical engineering and acoustics would value this book as part of their library.
